Agronomic Excellence in the Dry Zone
The 140-acre Ellawala Farm, located in Sri Lanka’s Anuradhapura District, benefits from rich red loamy soils and favourable climatic conditions for producing high-quality TomEJC mangoes.
Originally cultivated with banana, paddy and various mango varieties, the farm has evolved to focus primarily on TomEJC, alongside other fruit and crop varieties. The farm employs high-density planting methods to maximise yields per acre and operates an Agriculture Department–registered Grade 1 nursery propagating mango and other fruit varieties, as well as native tree species.
A recently established multi-crop demonstration plot provides a platform for sharing best practices in cultivation, irrigation and post-harvest technologies, reinforcing the farm’s role as a model agricultural site visited by government officials, farmers and enthusiasts.
